Original art for CANAL ALLIANCE “COMING HOME WALLS” MURAL PROJECT

The purpose of this project is to visually express aspects of the mission of the Canal Alliance, and the immigrant experience: celebration of diverse cultures, the aspiration and courage of newcomers, the difficulty and hard work required to achieve a secure place in a new land, to join and contribute to the value and vitality of that new home. Each of ten artists created a work on a 48”x48” primed hardboard panel, provided, which is visually joined to its adjacent artworks with the help of art students from the community, creating a single mural, sixty feet long, to occupy the central reception space of Canal Alliance, 91 Larkspur St., San Rafael.
